Thanks for everyones input, I dont really know what im going to do, at this point, after reading many of these threads for the few airlines that are hiring, I have however drawn one conclusion( seems every pilot hates someone else for flying somewhere), jeez think what we could do if we put as much energy into banding together, that we put into refusing jumpseats cause you fly for company A, or hating someone else for flying at company B, is this whole industry set to self distruct. I sometimes think we (pilots created the mess were in to begin with) who knows, but it seems, using forums to get facts is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, 15000 pilots out here with 15000 different opinions, Thanks to all those who tried to offer advice, im more confused then ever....lol

.....is it any wonder I want to stay in small T props....chuckle

No, 15000 pilots...with almost uniformly one opinion.. Go Jets is garbage, put your "energy" into doing a searches and steering clear.

Andy, I understand what your saying, and gojet isnt the only outfit im checking out, I guess it just chaps me that every forum ends the same. I refuse jumpseats to this pilot because of who he works for. My beef at this point is I have NEVER refused a guy a seat even if I dont care for his company, just think pretty soon none of will be able to get to work. I guess I shall keep flying my glorified tprop as long as possible, but I will do it professionaly and with integrity. I had a senior captain from a major tell me once, integrity is doing the right thing, despite the cost, and yes that means standing behind your brothers in a union fight, but also being the bigger man and allowing the jumpseat for the other guy because he is a professional just like you. And I cant believe that I am getting of on a tangent after reading all the threads, when I simply was asking who they were, honestly I had never heard of them till last week. Oh and im sure this will set some people off, and Im ready for this thread to close, hint hint moderator, Ive found plenty of info on other threads, and i think ill stay put and out of jets if I can. Seems to much hatred in the jet world.

Try Mesaba or Colgan, you can fly their T props or Compass or whoever else is hiring (there are a few). You may be right when you concluded "seems every pilot hates someone else for flying somewhere" but I guess the name of the game is choosing the least hated... the lesser of few evils if you will. I need not to state my opinion about GJ, this thread might get closed.

You're confusing innocent pilot arguments with a universal hate towards a pilot group. You're desperately wanting to hear what you want to hear but you're not going to have any of it. If you actually did a search, then you should be a connoisseur of gojet since there are 12 hours worth of reading material. Go there and you will learn your fate.

Do research on an airline/company and make a decision based on what suits your lifestyle best. 12 months ago---you could go pretty much anywhere and face an 18 month upgrade. Now, times are different.

GoJets is what it is. I see GJ pilots all the time in ORD (and often times on overnights in PWM)... they look just like you and I do... stay in the same hotels, eat the same foods, they have two legs and two arms...

Most of the people on here who sit here and say "bahh I hate gojets.... I'd never let a gojets pilot in my jumpseat...etc. etc." those guys never say anything to GJ pilots face to face... they just hide behind their username on these forums and chirp. I know this because the city I commute out of---there are a couple GJ pilots that commute to ORD and they never get any crap....sure they might walk around with their heads down, knowing that not many people like them.... but nobody ever says anything to their faces. At least not that I've seen/heard (from talking to them).

It's a very small minority of pilots who actually deny jumpseats, i would never.

Yes, all of you on here make good point and I did see some things on post that give me pause, im gonna re-evaluate my positions on a couple companies for sure, I guess I just got on a tangent because I seem to always see guys using that no jumpseat argument on almost every forum and it just reeks of unprofessionalism to me. It seems almost impossible to find a good carrier to build a career with these days. Every one seems to have pooed on a pilot somewhere along the line. I wish everyone facing a furlough continued luck finding the ability to continue flying for a living, and supporting your families, times are truly tight, we should all be backing each other up in in these times, thanks again for steering me to all the info on companies I'm considering, good and bad, i have plenty to sort through for sure.

Actually many don't have to since a lot of places don't have recip agreements with GJ and technically don't have to give them a ride. As far as majors I've heard plenty of stories. UA is hit or miss since it's ALPA central, SWA you have to check in with the CA. From who I've talked to, most of them live in ORD or STL and most who commute do it on GJ flights. It's sad...

jumpseats aren't really a negotiating tool, just have the potential to screw up the world for everyone else. Honestly, i've never denied a jumpseat to a gojet guy, nor had one of their guys deny one to me.

Honestly for myself, it's not the people at gojet that really peeve me, it's what the company represents. What would keep me from applying or going to Gojet is simple, i would never want to think that i helped carry on what was started over there several years ago. I doubt people would agree that all the wounds have been healed, but, what i will say is what happened over there several years back wasn't right, and has never been corrected, and as such, i never want THEIR name on MY resume.
