Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think these are the facts:
You currently qualify for food stamps.
You are willing to take a further pay cut so you can build "multi-engine glass turbine time."
You'll do this so you can get a "better" job somewhere outside the U.S.
There are currently ZERO prospects for said "better" job. But you're willing to put your financial future in turmoil and family life at risk just for the "chance."
I understand the "paying your dues" concept, but flying a 75,000 pound jet with 66 nut-jobs in the back shouldn't be "timebuilding", and anybody sitting forward of the cockpit door shouldn't be living on food stamps.
Does anybody still wonder if working conditions and pay will ever get better at the regionals? In this industry? If you think they will, you are, in my opinion, severely delusional.

Nope. Diver got it right. People like you, Pause, who keep on going blindly forward like you're not despised and hated and not stabbing the rest of us in the back by working at an Alter-Ego carrier, are the problem. I don't know what a snad-box is, but it sounds right up your alley...

I would like to see an objective poll posted, that asks everyone on this forum (people working for majors, cargo, regionals...) if a person takes a job at GJ TODAY, are they doing anything wrong and do they deserve to be chastised by others in the industry.
I would post the poll, but Im sure it would get nasty within minutes and my money would be on the mods closing it within 15 minutes. Oh well. Maybe it should be posted in the majors forum, which seems a tad bit more civil.

If G7 is the only shady operation hiring, I'll find another line of work...thank you!
And to the G7 pilot that my Captain enthusiastically let on board today you're lucky I wasn't in the Flightdeck at the time to educate him. You would have ended up walking.

If you're going to act like that based on someone's workplace, perhaps it's a good thing you're not the guy giving the go-ahead to jumpseaters? Hate to sound inflammatory here but that's a great way to ruin it for everyone.

I have always, and will always get you, or any other Jumpseater where you're going. Period. But not GoJet. Nor will I ever request a ride from them. Forgive me for not being responsive to their plight...

.... and to the CRJ FO offering to "educate" the captain, I say... you have a long way to go and a lot more to learn before you are in any position to educate ANYONE.
This kind of political crap has no place on airline jumpseats. If we went down this path, you, being a stud-muffin CRJ FO, would never set foot on any mainline jumpseat because those mainline pilots may perceive you as stealing his job and doing it for peanuts.... or say a legacy airline captain may tell some LCC jumpseater to take a hike because he may perceive that LCC's are the reason he lost his retirement and took 40% paycut.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OF AN AIRLINE OR THEIR EMPLOYEES - YOU NEVER, EVER, EVER BRING POLITICS ON THE JUMPSEAT! EVER! EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER!!!! You understand that, Mr. CRJ FO Educator?
If your airline has a reciprocal agreement with such and such airline, YOU DO NOT SINGLE-HANDEDLY MESS WITH IT! EVER!
Let me put yet another way, Mr. CRJ FO Educator. Suppose one of your fellow pilots from your airline is trying to catch a ride home, and it just happens to be the last flight. Much to his 'misfortune' it's a GoJet flight... and the captain on that flight is ****ed off because last week, some Mr. CRJ FO educator went out of his way to make sure he doesn't get on the jumpseat home. Now that GoJet captain tells your fellow pilot to pound sand because he will no longer take any pilots from your airline because of what happened. See, now you being an 'educator' just cost one of your own "innocent" pilots a ride, and who knows how important it was for him to get to where he was going.
So I say it again..... NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OF AN AIRLINE OR THEIR EMPLOYEES - YOU NEVER, EVER, EVER BRING POLITICS ON THE JUMPSEAT! EVER! EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER!!!! You understand that, Mr. CRJ FO Educator?

Now.... Mr. CRJ FO Educator....
You want to kick off GoJet off your jumpseat? Contact your union rep, chief pilot, etc. and try and get them removed from your reciprocal list, and until that's done... YOU NEVER EVER EVER MESS WITH THE JUMPSEAT!
