The apathy of the pilot group is shocking. Worst in the industry by far. The place will never get better because everyone is either too scared of the people that control the place or they just don't care at all. This is why the place is just as bad as when it started.

Don't do it man!!! I am an ex waterskier and you can't believe the incompetence and malice displayed by those in charge of the airline. I left as an fo after a couple of years to go to Skywest (not that it's perfect, but I digress). I have never worked somewhere where I felt as degraded and taken advantage of on a daily basis as when I worked for TSA.

Although, it plays into what they want in a way (people leaving so they can start new people with 0 longevity for cheap), it was VERY satisfying handing in my resignation letter to that steaming pile of an airline.

I would never stand for the kind of treatment again........ I would stop flying airplanes before I would ever work for that company or a company like it again. I'd rather be a bartender than sell my soul to keep flying and I think you'd definitely live to regret it if you go to work for them. Stay at Xjet man!!! You can't possibly understand unless you've worked for one of Hulas's companies.............

I hate to be a dunce but "Exactly WHY are Go Jet Pilots seemingly Despised?? Were they Strike breakeers?? Jet Blue is also Non-UNION arethey also Despised? I can Understand why a UAL/CAL captain might not "care" for them but Other regionals?? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me as you're ALL flying mainline Routes and believe you have the right to do so,, So?? what Gives??

The short, undetailed version is this. Years back Hulas Konodia who owns TranStates wanted to operate 70 seat jets in addition to the 50 seaters they had. The TSA pilot contract required that new rates be negotiated. HK didn't want to negotiate so he found an operating certificate, bought it, & started an alter ego airline to operate the 70 seaters at the rates he chose. TSA pilots lost the chance at growth and watched TSA brethren leave TSA for GoJet thereby breaking unity and essentially spitting in their pilot groups face.

You see, those who chose to draw a line in the sand to stop the race to the bottom were essentially punished.

Didn't the scope with American prevent TSA from operating any airplanes with >50 seats on that certificate? Even if it was for another carrier.

That's not exactly correct. Gojets was started because TSA couldn't fly 50+ seaters.

Will Gojet be able to meet the performance requirements in their contract? To be quite honest I think this is a deal that was too good to pass up for Delta. The price was to good and is worth a shot (for delta) to see if it works out.
And at the end of the day, it's not really all that different than when XJT started Delcon ops out of LAX. Us being ALPA, doesn't matter. Us being better paid and having a better CBA than ASA at the time, doesn't matter. The 10 airplanes on CPA for Delta were at cost, the ones on the pro rate were done at (negative) cost. As you mentioned, it was simply too good a deal for DAL to pass up with very little risk. They got VERY cheap regional feed for LAX, and SLC, as well as place holders for those gates till they could reach their pre economic recession/oil spike plans that never materialized.

Again, our Delcon ops don't differ too much from what GoJets is doing.

Actually, by some, yes. It was extremely bad during the BK's. Especially out of JFK. It got so bad that the JS chair at the time for a particular legacy had to send out a memo to the his pilot group due to all the denial complaints he was receiving from the JB JS chair. He basically had to tell his pilot group to stop being a bunch of children and honoring the reciprocal JS agreement with JB. His memo was published on the ALPA message board.

Regional, lecacy, doesn't matter. Never doubt the pilots at ether spectrum to act like a bunch of egocentric/narcissistic children. Been going on for ages, it'll continue to go on.

YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is why things got worse with every passing month when I was at Trans States. I was perfectly willing to wait my turn to upgrade and put in the time, but when everything is moving backwards, at some point you bail off the sinking ship.

Gojets has a pirate flag flying over it and I think anyone going there is making a serious mistake.

While I am currently an fo, if a jumpseater shows up with a Gojet ID, I am begging my captain to leave them in the jetway. If he refuses, it's going to be a quiet ride to wherever we're going.

If I ever have any input on who gets hired, Gojets is a serious stain on someones resume, so people telling you that it MAY affect your chances at a mainline job aren't blowing smoke. Us ex-waterskiers are out there and we haven't forgotten what went down!

You guys kind of made your bed tho back then by not agreeing to the flying. Now TSA might not even exist shortly just sayin
