I love it when guys take a stand on the internet and in the crew room. Unfortunately saying and doing are two completely different things.

You could hold your head up high and say you didn't apply for a job for moral reasons as the Sheriff gives you 7 days notice to evict your now foreclosed on house. I would shovel **** for $1 if I had to. When you are the head of your household, you need to do what's right for your family, even if that means you get crossed off a few pilots christmas card lists.

You can win the battle but lose the war.
Well, I can speak for myself.... Yes, I was pretty much in the same situation as Comair but G7 never made my radar as potential place of employment...

I got friends that got shot down at eagle a week ago . Friends that got shot down at republic as well . Who knows what there are looking for . They all had the times and where flying part 135 and some were even md80 captains with 12000tt flying 121
Yes you can if you prepare and have a clean record. Your friends that got "shotdown" either 1. Didn't prepare adequately enough for the interview or 2. Lack a clean background. Both RPand Eagle are offering bonuses meaning.... If you're offered to interview the job is pretty much yours...
As for the MD80 guy with 12000tt.... Flight time/experience doesn't promise a job. Being interview ready, no hiccups and a clean background does.
Being that G7 pretty much takes anyone with a heartbeat convinces me that they had exhausted their options through fault of their own.

Well good for you. For some its a good fit, others not so much. I personally don't let political B.S. influence my decision when I look for a flying job. I think what is best for my career, my family, and my pocket. I would never cross a picket line, but if Delta closes an airline and shifts its flying to a new airline, thats their doing. Of course if every pilot refused to go there it would stop, but that will never ever happen. If anyone should take blame for this, it should be the unions.
They talk a good talk and take your money but they are in effect toothless tigers.

Its all just a big game at the end of the day. The big boys don't care who they upset or who's lives they disrupt when they make their moves. There is no loyalty, no fairness, no integrity, just corporate greed.

By the way, I don't have a dog in this fight. I don't fly for G7 or TSA. Just trying to think what I would do if I was in the same boat. Valid arguments on both sides I guess.

Well then enlighten all of us. What was your "pretty much the same situation?" And who did you end up with? How many of your brothers and sisters have you personally vouched for from Comair who needed jobs? Did you stand up and refuse to turn a wheel until they got hired?

Fact is, GoJets is getting ready to begin Section 6. Fact is, ALPA has it's nose out of joint because Prater couldn't get the management to can the GoJets pilots. And given the way they have treated regionals to keep the legacies happy...

So...fill us all in "Slats"...

As I said earlier, I choose G7 because it was best for my family and I.
I refuse to judge someone because of the choices they made for their family.

Now back to the updates......

SO they will start section six, lets see if they beat RAH to a contract?

Or better yet lets see if the company puts out an offer and calls it "last and best offer" with the teamsters clause and what is happening at RAH.

Incidentally, and not get ahead of myself, but how's training? Everyone fly from the left seat, or just Street C/As/CQFOs? I presume everyone gets a PIC type...are they harder on the CQFOs? Esimated washout rate? I ask because back when last I paid attention to these things, TSA was sort of famous for a "build the aircraft" oral and high washout rate. Thanks!

Training is fair. Not "easy". A few people wash out, I can't imagine if you gave it a 100% effort you would have much trouble. Depending on your sim partner, you may do some sim time in the left seat and then right seat. No one at GoJet is trying to have you "build the aircraft". They want you to succeed.

It's not a bad place to be. Lot's of mature, professional pilots.
