GoJet/Delta CRJ7 Contract
#123
New to all this and not decided on a regional yet, but can you explain to me how one would be paid $1000 less per month? Is it because of no cancellation pay? Looking at the 1st year pay, all regionals pay pretty much the same miserable wage!
All I was saying is this move goes in the right direction, hopefully more regionals will offer 4 free hotels per month.

You bid for a schedule...you don't make a lot ever, so you try and maximize your time at work and get a sweet line 90 hrs and you are absolutely thrilled because you can now pay your bills but you sacrifice quality of life...however you are surviving.
You now go to work and fly three outta your four trips. You've actually over blocked the month and you are now low and behold going to have a sweet 92hr month and on the last week of your month on day one of your 4 day trip...BOOM nor'easter in LGA. You get stuck in LGA in hotel for two days. Then on day three of your 4 day trip you get a broken aircraft and they cancel that turn. Now you sit at airport waiting for a deadhead 3 or 4 hrs to a reassignment , probably one leg to BTV for another overnight...30hrs. On the last day you DH home.
So now what...
Well your original 4 day worth 27hrs is now only worth 5hrs because you never flew the majority of it...
The DH all over the place...1/2 pay
The broken airplane, ya you should get paid for that, it says so in the contract. (will gojet EVER pay for that...HELL NO) will the union get it for you...(I never ever saw the union get any money for me EVER)
So here you are , busting your but all month and at the end you make just over the contractual 75 hrs they must pay you...or whatever you actually flew that month.
If you happened to call in sick earlier in the month, now you are really screwed, because you could easily get paid less than 75 hrs...
Oh wait , if gojet completes 98% of it's flying you get 98% (I think) of your awarded line....Once again good luck with that, I actually ripped that one out and used it for the bird cage droppings.
This happened to me every month every winter...the trick is to bid min and take max days off and only for 50hrs getting paid 75hrs...that was just me though...
GOODLUCK with all of that
