Cancellation pay is HUGE. To just gloss over that like its no big deal is highly suspect. And for what it's worth, I hear it's the management that is so terrible at Go-jet. The pilots seem cool. As far as their union, I believe it's the Teamsters, and they pretty much do nothing on behalf of the pilots. Again, they're many other regionals with a whole lot more to offer than go-jet. Why anyone would chose them is beyond me. But whatever. To his their own.

So which regional would you go for if you were to start a new career... considering current industry situation(s), management, contract as well as some personal factors like..
- I live in Florida and need to be a commuter with a crashPad instead of moving to the base
- short reserve time
- sick/cancellation/vacation pays etc (gadget republic don't have cancellation pay)
- bases and bigger planes if possible
- flow thru isn't a big factor. id rather get hours and advance my career on my own (except that i also heard in the future the majors will have to fulfill the terms of flow contract and there will be no room for other pilots not int he flow system. in that sense, where i like it or not, maybe should choose a regional with one)
gojet as well as express jet, republic don't seem to have one
- i think upgrade time matter much since major airlines don't hire direct captains??
I was going thru this from a different posting and first year pay isn't that different across the industry?

TSA:
unlimited commuter clause
above average contract
tripling in size in 2 years
MRJ on the way
more growth very likely
new very friendly management
not owned by a major so can't be forced into concessions

Oh, I must have missed the MRJ announcement. Last I heard Transtates HOLDING had an order for MRJ's and can still bait, switch, and demand concessions among their 3 divisions. Am I wrong?
Not saying TSA is a bad choice just saying.
