I might not completely agree with either of the above.....but its how it is....

we have contracts to prevent major abuse of us as workers....but mainly its about membership with ALPA and IBT.....the dues are $$ ch-ching for them ....duh
You must be a joy to fly with on a 4 day...

goarmy...So alot of the pilots at GJ are furloughs? I was just wondering because I work at the airport (ALB) and all the pilots that come off are all in their 50's. So i guess that would make sense. So I take it there arent too many young new hire pilots at GJ? Just curious, thanks. By the way everyone, alot of you may not agree with goarmy, and although I am not saying I do 100%, he's got a few very good points. And the biggest is...too many of us like drama...ehh?

GoJets is what the airlines REALLY NEED! People who are willing to do work for low wages, and not worry about upper management having to worry about ends meet to pay their pilots!
Yeah, unions are stupid. Except for the fact that you would be making half what you do if not for the union carriers ahead of you in the past. You're welcome.

THIS is completely my favorite! Heres how it will go unfortunately :

CP = Cheif Pilot

WP = Whining Pilot ( unjustified at that)

WP : Sir , so and so in the new hire class is a dirtbag and a bad person....blah blah or a scab.....( insert lie here)

CP : Well how do you know him/her and what did they do?

WP: ( has to lie at this point ) ....uh i dont know them really.....but they are scabs....

CP : they crossed a picket line?

WP: uh no....but they are scum

CP: ok how so....

WP: tells GJ story

CP : thanks for coming in

after WP leave.....CP laughs and thinks where did they get THAT loser from!

Actually, they post the list of new-hire candidates in the pool PRIOR to awarding them a class date...it's actually a part of their process.

If a current SWA pilot does give you a down-check for any reason at all, you are in very deep trouble. Yes, this really happens.

Probably a good idea. There are some people I've flown with in the past who have no business flying airplanes for any reason.

It is alot of drama, the regionals are no place to spend your career, its almost 100% contract flying.....it changes hands all the time.. thats why you get your time and move out....if you stay you deserve things that happen....companies are going to do whats in THEIR intrest to make money, they also ALL undercut each other and the ones that win the RFPs jump up and down for joy at new flying and upgrades and the ones that lose point fingers and blame instead of using common sense and realizing what kinda industry they are in ( regionals ) .......meanwhile the mainline pilots are the ones who are hurt by young SJSers wanting to fly the biggest thing they can get their paws on for 50 seat wages. Ask anyone who is or was furloughed for the past 5+ years.....

Gojet pilots are getting good jobs and WILL continue to get them....no one at the majors cares about this crybaby topic.....I ask anyone I get a chance and they usually LAUGH about it and say " it looks like what goes around comes around" !! ENJOY :-)

Default goarmy...

They are still scumbags, and you can defend them all you want, but that simply begs the question... Where is YOUR integrity?.... WIth your ability to accept people who have, in essence, screwed over TSA pilots, I call into question your capability to be a real Army soldier.....And they will NEVER get onto my airline.. Of that I can guarantee you.. And, yes, they have tried......

They may not get denied all the time by mainline, but when I was at TSA I was asked at least 2 or 3 times by mainline capt's (mostly american) when I was jumpseating, "You aren't one of those GoJets guys are you?" It does happen.
