Hello,
I have an athletic background and still like to run, exercise, etc. When sitting and flying for long periods of time, my back and rump get sore and stiff. I try to stand and walk as much as possible. I've also try using cushions. However, those ideas haven't helped much. Anyone have suggestions on how to handle long periods of sitting? I've heard of the seat beads but haven't used them yet.
Thanks.

Same here. If I run immediately before flying, I'm just going to feel it. Better to run earlier in the day or the night before if practical.
Stretching helps if you're flying same day (before and after running). I'll also stretch before bed time when on a trip, whether I exercise or not, since you tend to get tight sitting all day, and then those tight muscles are more prone to cramping.
The seat makes a big difference, not so much padding but rather support and even distribution of weight...if it's all on the glutes, it's going to hurt. Beads would probably help.
For some reason that I don't understand, being on a lower-body strength training regime seems to greatly relieve pain and cramping from sitting. Not saying lift before you fly, but just doing it regularly.
