Gun at checkpoint

Use a different bag for weapons, never the one you take to work. The cost of a second bag is trivial compared to your career.
That's so obvious that, yes, this guy is an idiot.

Just like the above mentioned pilot.

I think most people are frustrated with the gross negligence of the individual. Obviously, every one of us has made mistakes.

And like many other things, ALL that's disclosed thus far is what the media has released, so who REALLY KNOWS?
But if it' true that it wasn't DAY 1, said individual started earlier, etc etc etc, then the premise of "made a mistake" would be a tough sell on the accountability/forgiven front.
JUST LIKE THE UAL CA. It's not about the mistake, it's how one handles said mistake THAT MATTERS.

Good work on being statistically exceptional KC135.
And yes, a pilot getting caught bringing a gun through security is going to marginally take away from the respect given to all of us, not to mention contributing to the likelihood of all of us losing expedited security, which is the more irritating part to me. Especially when, unlike other mistakes, this is such an unforced error.

Combined with how certain topics are in the rotation in the news. Since the airlines have made the cycle this week, ANYTHING airline related makes the news.
On another week, had there been a political scandal, a police shooting, etc we wouldn't even be hearing about.......
