GMT Master II. Steel w/Red-Black Bezel. It only took me 12 years of flying to figure I earned it. Must have been the few thousand hours at 300' AGL (yea), and the other few thousand hours in SKE formation (boo).

Bought it through AAFES when you still could. Mailman knocked on the door one day and said; "Package from Geneva. That'll be $170 in customs duty. Cash or check?" Paid the man and haven't looked back.

watch commercial

Has anyone seen that TV commercial for a watch where the Captain and a hotel lobby shop owner are conversing over a watch? A wet behind the ears F/O walks in and asks to see the watch in question, and the shop owner tells him that he has not earned the right. The commercial then drifts off to scenes from WWI, barnstormerdays, where 'real flying' was done. If anyone has seen it or know the link that would be cool. I unfortunately don't remember the brand name either.

Most guys I fly with seem to sport the rubber timex digital. I prefer the Breitling Navitimer.

Rolex GMT Master II - purchased after 35 years of flying. I figure I earned the thing. Still have my Accutron Astronaut (1965) and Glycine Airman (1962).

IMHO the original Glycine Airman with its 24 hour dial is the best cockpit aviation watch.

My dad gave me his Bulova Accutron Astonaut model 214. I used to wear it till I found out how much it was worth, then I put it away.

I like the third hand and the 24 hour bezel, cool feature, much like the Glycine.

Good Breitling Aerospace price?

I'm heading to STT late next week, where the duty-free shopping there is supposed to be awesome. Assuming I find a few Breitling dealers down there, what's a really good price for the Breitling Aerospace (w/ titanium band)?

I recommended a GMT watch by Sinn in a previous post but this is the model I like these days.

Anybody here own the Skyracer and want to give their opinion of it? Of course, there's no way I'm buying a Breitling, but it's the one that catches my eye the most.
