Hey all

I'm a little curious about the warranty and what it covers. My bag (plastic frame) has been great for me. It has taken a beating but has a couple of bad zippers.

Also, regarding the wheels, how long do they last and has anyone had to change them?

Thanks

I had one prob with the plastic frame. year old bag, one of the bearings in the wheels went bad. Got so hot it melted the plastic frame. So be sure to check those bearings at the first sign of trouble.

I sent mine back after about three years. The zipper on the long side pocket wouldn't stay together anymore. ALL the other zippers still worked, but some of the handles for the other zippers had broke off. Getting tossed in the back of the plane with the passengers bags all day can take a toll. Anyway, I sent it back under warranty, they put new zippers on.

As far as the wheels go, I have the metal frame. I got about 6 years out of them before they finally went kaput. That was six years of the above treatment, PLUS dragging it on and off trains, busses, subways, up and down curbs/stairs to all the different crasphads I've been in.

The PNT/LW is definitely a good investment. If you are going to do the wheels yourself, get the smaller in line skate wheels (72mm I think). I just bought them off the LW website.

my PNT was a handmedown and I've just recently changed the wheels since a chunk out of mine fell off. Looked like someone took a bite out of it. Anyway, I didnt bother to order the wheels online, I just went to a local skateboard/inline skate store and bought inline skate wheels and some quality bearings.

I've had the 22" metal frame for about a year and a half now. It still looks brand new. I've even thought of dragging it around the parking lot tied to my truck's bumper so that the captains I fly with will stop giving me the deer in the headlights looks as me and my pristine bag roll down the jetway. Its like they have a cartoon bubble by their heads thinking "OMG, an FNG..."

I've also had the LW ballistic flight kit for the same time and have had handle problems. It was built a bit weak. If I didn't always leave it in the crewroom I could put a heavy duty handle on it and be good to go. For now though, I've got it fixed per LW. It works and the bag is strong, just not the handle.

Gotta bring the thread back sorry guys. Im looking for a new flight bag. Im pretty sold on the aerocoast pro 2. Any of you guys have one? It looks pretty tough and only cost $150. Doesnt have the plastic sides on it so i dont believe stickers would stay on either, which isnt a big deal my flight case now is like that..Curious what you guys think about them.

Yes, it was in Abend's column. Visit ClubGlove - The Number 1 Travel Bag on Tour and click on "Airline Pilots."

Funny you should ask, considering your avatar is straight from the website. Anyway, here ya go: TurboPROPaganda 2.0 / Flight Case Stickers

(I'm just looking for (read: reading reviews for) a new overnight bag but figured I'd knock out a drive-by helping hand.)

Default They sent me a used bag &TERRIBLE SERVICE !!!

I just ordered a LW bag.. Paid for 2 day shipping, and it showed up a week and a half later.. When I had opened the box, the bag had been used and damaged.. When I wrote their service department.. I got nothing back for days and several emails later.. they eventually said they would refund a little money, but then only send portion of it.. Still more email and calls later, and nothing.. The bag is nice due to the sturdy box around it, but I like my Travel Pro layout better, and more than half the price.. I'm sure the LW bag will last longer, but with the terrible service and sending me a damaged bag.. not willing to fix it properly.. I would stay away.. NEVER AGAIN will I deal with LW/PN..
