Not necessarily a radio transmission, but sitting in back of a Shuttle flight ATL-IND last night when this came over the PA from the flight crew, "From our cruising altitude of 14,000............" Myself and a NetJets guy I was sitting with are both thinking the same thing.... What's going on here? He later found out both packs were deferred, Yippee!!! Least we lucked out and had smooth air for most the flight, couldn't imagine the fuel burn on that segment.

Hey, if you have an issue with somebody, you should ALWAYS send it in a personal message. Never, EVER call somebody out in the middle of a thread. That constitutes thread drift, and will NOT be tolerated.
In conclusion, keep all non-thread-related messages in personal messages and out of the threads.

Nope, but if I keep flying my MS simulator one day I might fly real planes just like you... So how was your jumpseat on Fedex?

Ps. sorry if my post upset you, I just wanted to read more funny stories instead of reading private messages; thought the thread would drift, that’s all. When I realized I sounded a little abrasive it was too late for me to change my post…

Sorry about all that bro... PS: The CRJ isnt a 'real' plane, Piper Cub: window open and the dog in the back seat is real flying

Anyway, In the Boston area a few weeks ago and got cleared direct to the "Drunk" intersection, the ATIS information at the time happened to be "whiskey". My reply went something like this: "### 1127 cleared directly to drunk, we have the whiskey!"

I was on a night flight, coming back to MLB. I was cleared to land 9R, and there was another aircraft ahead of me who tower cleared for 9L. He was a couple miles west on a straight-in:

TWR: Cessna 12345, cleared to land runway 9L.
345: Uhh... tower, which one is 9L? The big one or the little one?
TWR: *pause* It's the one... on the left...
345: Roger...
TWR: Cherokee 6FT (me), use extreme caution, there's a disoriented pilot on final for one of the 9s, but he doesn't know which one. He's confused. Report him in sight.
6FT: (in between fits of laughter) Roger, I see him and I'm keeping a close eye on him.

Maybe you had to be there, but it was hysterical!

Was told about an Aeroflot flight into JFK when the controllers asked him if he was heavy, asked them again, and finaly one of the pilots came on and said "We are not fat!"

I always enjoy calling in and reporting that "we have the booze news."

Good times.
