How To Improve Your APC Experience
Here are some tips, that you don't even have to follow religiously or treat like a checklist, that will help improve your posting and reading pleasure on APC. If everyone does a little bit, the benefits are exponential.
1) Browse all forums before posting a new thread. If the topic has already been posted, duplicates (and sometimes triplicates and quadruplicates) will be deleted.
2) Post in the appropriate forums. If your thread is about your new knitting hobby, post it in the Hobby section. Just because you are a regional FO does not mean you have to post everything in the Regional forum. Be a little judicious.
3) After choosing the correct forum, post only once. Posting the same thing more than once in other forums is spamming and excess posts will be deleted.
4) If you see something that might be a violation of the Terms of Service (hereafter affectionately known as TOS), report the post using the little triangle thingie on the lower left side of the post. The moderators will handle each one as appropriate.
5) Similarly, if you have a moderator or system question, send us a PM instead of posting publicly. And please give us some time to get back with you. We all have jobs and other obligations, and we are not here 24/7. Even I turn off my PDA at night!
6) Before hitting the "submit" button, take a breath first and come back to re-read your post. The internet is devoid of subtlety and nuance as you all know. You may not mean XYZ, but sometimes the choice of words will be read by someone else in a different way.
7) Do not post while drunk, tired, high, sleepy, hungry, thirsty, angry, frustrated, or horny.

I guess the key to a good joke is that someone doesn't have to come in and explain the joke after you make it.
Maybe I shouldn't have stopped reading at number 5. According to 6, maybe I could have included a smiley face to indicate that I am, in fact, able to read, write, speak, and understand the engrish language.
