Worst flying movie ever?

SFO -San Francisco International (1970) has to be a contender for the worst flying movie.
More recently:
Broken Arrow (1996) "would you mind not shooting at the thermonuclear weapon".
Pearl Harbor (2001) Any who's heard the song in Team America knows what I'm talking about.

Pearl Harbor.....
What a huge disappointment that was. They took one of the most relevant historical moments in modern times and turned it into a popcorn, puppy love romance.

Do you believe that Tom Cruise was NOT given a ride or two?
If Sting and Joan Lunden can get rides - why not someone actually filming a movie that the USN helped out with quite a bit?
Word also was that a rescue swimmer REALLY had to save him from nearly drowning in the mishap aftermath scene (entanglement in the lines) and never even told the Rescue Swimmer 'thank you'
One of my favortie bloopers in TopGun is when 'Sundowner" has his callsign on his helmet IN the airplane when 'Mav' won't engage, but when confronting him in the line - the callsign is GONE! Went so fast it blew it right off!
USMCFLYR
Edit - Tom Cruise did give the 36th Fighter Squadron a nice popcorn machine when he got a backseat ride with them.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Quentin Tarantino's take on Top gun.
The coolest part was watching Maverick flame Charlie a few times. Anybody seen any recent pictures of "Charlie" recently? Zoinks.

Executive Decision. Steven Seagal makes a cameo, F117 (with a cloaking device) carries a team of commandos to do an inflight boarding of a 747. To top it off, Kurt Russell ends up having to land the plane and can't remember to put the freaking gear down while Hally Berry (as a flight attendant) screams in the copilot seat.

Talked to some of the guys that were involved in the filming. Supposedly the reason Cruise always looked so sweaty in the seat was because he was puking his guts out.
That movie did more for recruitment than just about any other. I can only imagine being a single Tomcat pilot in San Diego in 1987.

But then people start talking and a plot sort of unfolds and the movie gets cheesy.
How many times can you show a plane flying through a cloud of smoke?
Should I post a picture?

Greatest flying movie though, outside of Airplane! is Always.

The funny thing is to look at the 1986 movie poster, look at Cruise today and then look at Charlie today.
As has been said, a great recruiting movie. I wonder how many 18 year olds with C- averages and 20/100 vision wound up as Aviation Boatswain's Mates on the promise they'd get to fly jets someday?
