Leather Jacket for sale
The leather jacket is nice only and I repeat only when riding a harely. Cumbersome, heavy and make the skinniest of pilots look overweight! Mines for sale now that I'm furloughed!

I happen to very much like my UNIFORM leather jacket. Comes in handy for the cold morning originating preflights. With the inner liner, I think it's warmer than the blazer/overcoat combination. Also is much nicer on overnights. Take off the stripes and nametag and you don't need to carry another coat.
But again, the 'P' word is brought into the discussion. I don't care if you'd wear a toga if that's what your FOM specified as a legal uniform item. As long as it's approved for you and your employer, I'm not one to judge.

Let me just sum up this thread and how it will evolve...
Many on here hate the leather jacket and many like it.
The ones who hate it will say it look unprofessional and the ones who like it will talk about the history of the jacket and that it is more practical than a blazer.
Why anyone cares what another pilot does to stay warm while within the guidelines of the company's uniform policy is beyond me

I am not a fan of the leather jack for the same reasons as all of those above already stated. And I will never have a bumper sticker on my flight case. Or duct tape for that matter...
