George Lucas has really let himself go.

The captain who put his name and employee number upside down in the maintenance logbook. Why the hell would you do that? Tool

Okay I'm a tool.

On one long trip, we ended up with a weird conversation along these lines.

Upon turning 21, you get a government card that authorizes you to kill someone ONCE in your life, without penalty.

Imagine how polite we'd suddenly become. You'd never know if the guy you just cut off in traffic hasn't used his "ticket" yet. :p

TOTD to me for even posting such weirdness. It's like cockpit conversations of UFO's, 9/11, and "How much $$ would it take for you to cut off one finger?" :D

Depends on who's finger and if they would pay me more not to cut it off.

Doug Masters 04-06-2013 06:54 PM

Hey Boss, do you mind not clipping your finger nails and then using an emory board to smooth them? Saw this recently...yuck.

Yazzoo 04-06-2013 08:29 PM

Tool ATL Delta gate agent wearing a backwards beanie hat giving our entire crew attitude about grabbing lunch with an hour to go until block out. Relax man, you'll live longer! And kill the beanie, it looks like you're wearing an abortion on your head.

ForeverFO 04-07-2013 05:34 AM

^^ Food is a safety of flight item. If the company hasn't catered a meal, then we are going to get something to eat between legs, and we'll block out when we are ready.

Gloopy wins the "think outside the box" award.

This guy should experience life as an Army Aviator. In my 27 years we have had our "pickle suits" taken away three times. Each time the time tested and coveted "pickle suit" has been replaced by something far inferior. This last time the Infanty branch got smart and made it permanent. Now we are stuck with a nomex suit that looks like Army ACU's. None of the pockets are useful for pilot duties and don't even get me started on the pen pockets.

My nomination for the tool of the day is the designer. Or me, for even piping up. Do we get a placque? Will it go good on my " I love me wall?" :)

Passenger chewing gum like a bloody cow and cracking it too. That sucks:mad:.

Got a new nominee for Tool of the Day (or year!) .

Check this one out, glad I never "ran into" her:

Wow. Just wow.

I was disgusted by her other article (already discussed here in the forum) about how she handled, really tricked, a student on his instrument checkride. But this tops even that. I really hope Flying Mag drops her as a writer because of her complete lack of professionalism as a pilot, DPE, and writer. She seems to get a thrill from her "antics" and then again when writing about them.

I think we've now reached a new level... tool of the century!

pilot0987 04-13-2013 04:22 PM

She must have a few cats.

Albief15 04-13-2013 05:17 PM

I think she is the same pig that wrote about sneaking into a QB meeting. Apparently whether its a social club or an ATC comtroller, if it doesnt mert her agenda anything is fair game. She is either a liar or a careless/reckless aviator. Either way, not impressive...

javaguy141 04-14-2013 07:28 AM

Scheduling called Capt to release him from a last day 5 hour turn. Thinking I(FO) may be released too, fooishly asks "did scheduling have a message for me as well?" Capt answers "your schedule is not my responsibility".

Where's the Flying Mag editor? Who let's this kind of cr@p pass in an aviation magazine?

Frightening to think she's training others.

That whole blog HAS to be a joke. It Just HAS to be. There's no way!

gloopy 04-15-2013 06:48 AM

That was nothing. There's this blogger/"consultant" out there, retired FA, who would barf out so many asinine quarter truths out of contexts in an attempt to create volitility and controversy. I can't remember her name and I don't know what to put into google to search for her other than derogatory explitives. I'm sure someone out there knows the blog I'm talking about as its been on forums before.

I mean she makes that TOTY squealing about dangerous DCA approaches look like Captain Reassurance. She makes Mary Schiavo look like Churchill.

Just a teaser from one of her savvy pro consumer rants:

Lower oxygen levels effect your eyesight. (technically true)

There's less oxygen at higher altitudes, including higher pressure altitudes that plane cabins are typically at. (ok, again, technically true, to a point)

Airlines provide oxygen to pilots on the flight deck. (yes, yes they do)

This oxygen mitigates the harmful effects on their eyesight. (um, yeah ok, that might sort of be true to a point but...)

But the passengers in the back suffer from eye damage. (oh it gets better)

One way you can prevent this is to tell the FA to tell the Captain to turn on the other pack to increase the oxygen for everyone, as airlines routinely operate with some of the packs off to save money even though its destroying your eyesight. (wait, what?)

And lots of other moronic things like that.

That's sounds like a typical fed trying to justify his/her existance but dang. Really? It's like that pax private pilot in the back thats starts a fuss because you didn't do a runup before TO.

TheFly 04-15-2013 08:17 AM

TOTD, the pax sitting next to me (I was JS'ing) who was wearing a t-shirt with cutoff sleeves and armpit hair fanning out in all directions.
Just nasty.

Can you spell reckless and endangerment? Not only the CFI, but Airman certificate needs to be lifted.

RhinoPherret 04-15-2013 08:36 AM

Always comforting to know there are people like good old "Martha" out there flying and always placing safety and common sense first. Amazing that the stats and odds have not caught up with her yet. I hope no one else is near if and when they do.

The customer who angrily accused me of lieing about cruising at fl380. I tried to explain we have this newfangled "rvsm" thing installed on our aircraft that allows us to do just that. He didn't buy it :(

I had that happen once. The guy was mad because he had proof we were only at 8000 ft. Yep, he had one of those mountain hiker watches that also displays altitude. Did not believe us when we tried to explain what the watch was showing was cabin altitude.

Should have just told him to roll down his window next time to see what you're talking about.
