The proper technique is to hit every one on the takeoff roll. When you are about 20 knots from VR just look over to see if the other pilot notices (a quick glance using your peripherals while concentrating on the TO.) Its usually good for a laugh when they realize that you were doing it for entertainment value.

Who knows. This is one of the many, many things that the only true answer is: that's the way we have always done it. I have asked and usually get a shrug of the shoulders and a shaking of the head in a back in forth manner.

1) the crew of my current 4 day trip. What started out as speaking only Spanish in the van to and from the hotel has now become all Spanish all the time including cabin to flight deck conversations. No matter how many times I say it the captain doesn't care that I no hablo.
2) me for nominating an entire crew.
