Dude when has the media ever been right about aviation? Most of the time they're lucky if they get the right airline/airport.

Is that the 757NEO? I didn't think they were out until next year.

Or the guy who, when asked by ATC for "slowest practical airspeed" for spacing, slows from 300 KIAS to 280 KIAS and the *****es and moans when he gets a 90 degree vector off course!

THE BACKPACK TOOL:

He comes in many forms and has learned to use his back pack to annoy. My personal favorite is when he steps into the last available half a spot on the airport train just before the door is about to close. There is only room for his feet. After the door closes on his backpack and then reopens, triggering that automated "Please allow the doors to close announcement", he then proceeds to spin around in the space with no regard for the face space his 74 pound eurotrash mobile home sized backpack takes up. Someday I'm going to just throw the backpack with or without it's owner attached.

Or any airline pilot that actually wears a backpack while in uniform. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!

Maybe not tool worthy but...

What's the deal with logbook write ups that start with "FA reports..." or "During post flight..."?

It's like saying "it's not my fault", or even worse "we discovered this at the outstation but didn't write it up till now". Just state what is broken.

Speaking of statements, I heard this the other day: "Boston center this is Airline xxx checking in, with you, in the climb..." Just spit it out, dude. None of that is necessary.

Is it just me? (don't answer that)

TW

I think the air pocket was composed out of 10% density altitude and 90% poor judgement.

I mean srsly, that dude's takeoff roll went on for miles and he barely stayed in ground effect for miles more.

Wintessed myself in JFK. Looked like Beaver Cleaver. Reebocks, Knapsack, mirrored glasses, baseball cap to boot. And the worst of it was he was a four striper!

I'm sure he's the pride of Eagle:rolleyes:

I've seen more than one grey haired (S & P), Major airline Captain, with a backpack. Sporting Reeboks is an overkill. I don't use a backpack, I do think it diminishes the professional "look" of an airline pilot. However, most of all, some would say that their paycheck is the most unprofessional component of this equasion.

And who is responsible for that? Not management... that's for sure.
