TOTD to any enviro-weenie that you have to fly with. Spends the whole trip telling you about climate change, bad coal, evil oil companies blah blah blah.

I finally told one guy to have the courage of hIs convictions, and quit flying to go tend his compost heap, after pointing out that he was an agent of the devil he so hated by burning 6000lb/hr of dino juice.

His response? "if I don't do it, someone else will"

So TOTD to you, Mr. Hypocrite.

I recently flew with a CA that told me to put away my schedule as I perused it.

"Ahh, okay," I replied.

"That's bad for my profession," he said.

"Your profession, you're a Delta pilot, right?" I asked.

"No, my line check pilot profession," he said.

I just rolled my eyes and put my schedule back in my bag.

Tool.

Correction..Jokes on me. Comair crew did not know about us and thankfully the 3am wake up was not their room. C and D, It was great drinking beer with y'all by the pool and good luck to you both if you happen to come by apc. SW in msy. Still tools.

I have two to add from yesterday. The southwest crew in msy that was about 1000 agl on a 1/2 mile final to 19. Asking for S turns. Little too late for that. Finally a Delta professional observing this stellar display of airmanship, had to key the mic and say "just go-around southwest". And second, to the comair crew in a unnamed capital city that would not hold the van for 5 mins for a Delta crew. Jokes on you dumb****. Hope you enjoyed your 3am phone call.

Buzz - I know you are joking here for the sake of forum enhancement, and this didn't really happen. Please tell me that someone didn't actually say this to you, and ask you to put away your schedule. How, in the name of everything holy, do you even make that request?
Do you all see why I upgraded as soon as humanly possible? Do you? Five years on reserve has been worth every second. No regrets, as crappy as this summer has been. None.

As it was explained to me by a captain I was flying with:

The nicest thing about being captain?

You get to fly with your favorite captain every leg.

It's tough as an FO to figure out and adapt to who you are flying with every leg if you respect the position.

Jughead,

Nope, true story. I wish it had never happened. I've been flying for 31 years and, honestly, have never had a true personality conflict in the cockpit, left seat or right. This guy set a precedent. Never again. Life's too short to fly with a-holes.

Moon,

I agree completely. I've got much more time in the left vs. the right so I get it. Some guys make it way harder then it has to be.;)

The funniest thing about it is, you get a guy like that in the cockpit that seems to get all surprised when you tell him that "your kind of tired" or "not really in the mood to grab dinner" on the layover.

Somehow I couldn't see hanging out on the layover being any more exciting. The bonus is when you bump in to them by accident on the layover.

Precisely......in his shorts, white t, and running shoes. And all he wants to do is talk flying. Longest four-day of my life.:D

Heyas Buzz,

I flew with a guy that fit that mold, and was chronically late for the van every morning as well. Had to call up to his room 3 out of 3 mornings, and every morning was a new excuse.

Weird that someone so obsessed over the details can suck so hard at actually keeping track of them.
