Touche my friend! He'll be laughing and casually knocking out a few more sets while the rest of us heathens lie choking to death on the ground! I really should wear mine to the gym just to see what his reaction is....it's probably like a mime on mime bro down-very awkward, yet entertaining.

How can you tell that it was a 'good judgment call'?

I'm wondering this too. Much of this TOTD thread has been devoted to Captains that have earned the title. Seems funny that this Captain gets an automatic pass from C.C.

They made a judgment call, there isn't enough information to tell if it was good, bad, or so-so.

TOTD: The USAirways Express DCA ops guy that continuously wants to "see me in" to my spot. He also likes to act like he controls Taxiway November. While we're busy on Ground coordinating our way in and out, he's yapping in my ear about holding for aircraft behind...we got it buddy, go back to doing nothing. We stopped calling him ready to taxi just to rattle his cage.

Ramp commander in Philly takes the cake... I never call him for taxi when he's in the middle of his rage episodes with piedmont guys pushing off the 20's. I just go "yeah 13 and 9 BYEEE"

If we are on the topic of the monkey circus that is the DCA commuter ramp, the lady who says "AIRCRAFT CALLING GO" is going to make me insane sooner or later..

Jeez...ok ok i guess im TOTD for jumping the gun and giving the crew benefit of the doubt!!! :P

Maybe it wasn't good. My point was more that they made a judgement call which they were comfortable with. I've seen my fair share of pilots who were scared to make themselves comfortable. Yick.

In any case, is it possible the CA was being a tool? I suppose....
sorry if jumping the gun hurt anyones feelings
