We seem to have plenty of LCA TOTD stories. But what I hate even more is captains who play LCA, even though they are not LCAs. If I am not on OE or being line checked, stop quizzing me. I never asked you to help me study for recurrent.

Just bring some flash cards with you. Don't get nervous. These are things you should know. haha

I've only had one Capt. do that to me, he actually was a LCA, but I was not on a checkride, just a regular trip with him, I guess because everyone else called in sick.

After about his third stupid hydrolic sys. question, with me shrugging my shoulders, he said, "You mean you don't know?"

I said, "It's not that I don't know...it's that I don't give a sh!t."

End of conversation...and only 11 more hours to go...with no news paper!

The TOTD is the young F/O that wears fighter pilot gloves in the cockpit, year round. It usually comes with spiky hair. And to be fair, sometimes they are Captains also.

You probably only see that on "the 9".

We have a guy like that in LA. Longest four days you'll ever fly.

There lies a Captain Nomex within every airline. But did you ever fly with a first officer that sported a knee board too ?

My experience is that these LCA types usuually screwup or take a shortcut somewhere. When they do, "exactly where is that in the book" shuts 'em up.

I just unthinkingly spent several days coughing and sucking down cough drops loudly over the interphone.

ooops.

As a Captain, I've had a few FOs do that. I like the term "Check FO."
