Not airline pilot since 1986. Not flying since the 80s. No, he is "airline captain since 1991."

This guy is just like Flying mag's Les Abend. Drama queen, blowing everything out of proportion. One time he wrote an entire article about the cockpit printer not working and he had to load it, it was hard, hadn't done it since IOE on the plane, controllers were trying to get him throughout the CPDLC, all while over the Atlantic ocean. Complete drama queens. Both these guys were the lucky ones in AA history. Hired in 1984-1986, spent 12-18 months as a SO, then 4 yrs as a FO, then upgraded at 31-32 yrs of age and have been captains ever since then. Theres the reason for some toolbag-ness.

Nice post. The few extremely lucky ones certainly skew aviation as whole. Les Abend also was a big fan of age 65.

Nice. I'll give Les Abend a TOTD if he hasn't already gotten one.

One time ATC was trying to get in touch with us when the ACARS printer wasn't working -- so we read the screen.

Anyone that can get into DCA without scraping a wingtip on the base to final turn at over 700 FPM is a scat hot aviator and we need to keep them around as long as they want to be captains! :D

I thought you could be fired for the stuff he's posting. Pics at 4000ft? Seems a little nuts. Seems like a nice guy ;)

Jethead needs a writing school like the movie Pearl Harbor missed the point. Or something.

Nahh...you just push the FLY button, sit back and watch it happen! :D

Any flight attendant could do it...

Oh, the horror!!

Why you should NEVER fly into Washington National Airport « JetHead's Blog

Don't fly to DCA, apparently.

"Look at the runway length of the “long” runway: that’s right, 6,800 feet–200′ shorter than LaGuardia’s aircraft carrier deck"

LaGuardia is a carrier deck? At 7,000 feet?

There's gotta be someone on here who's flown with Captain "I'm the Manno". Come on -- give it up.
