One leg to southern calilfornia. Flight attendants are turning and we are leaving so fo and I are in the back helping in the cabin. Capt douchnozzle goes on the flight deck and removes our crap. Mind you we were not late. He did say, thanks for helping in the back as we grabbed our stuff, so not totally douchey....but couldn't he just wait the 2.5 min? Maybe I'm the tool cuz I don't like my stuff messed with. Rant over.
I don't get it. If you were not staying on the aircraft and you were also not late, why did you stick around to "help" the FAs? I can't imagine doing anything other than saying goodbye to a few pax, then getting my bags and hustling on out of there.

Seems to me that you guys were just sort of in the way, and keeping your stuff in the cockpit would be mildly irritating to me as well if I was the new pilot just walking on the airplane.

In the big picture of life however, this hardly warrants a wasted heartbeat for anyone.

If he works for jetBlue, I think their pilots help tidy up the cabin.....

Maybe he was just being nice to a fellow employee. Apparently that is abnormal behavior to some people.

It depends on the state of the cockpit "stuff." If you've got two kitbags and two suitcases, I wouldn't care if the dude moves it. But if my charts, Jepps, and headset stuff is still in the made-nest mode, I'd be quite annoyed.

If I'm waiting to get in the cockpit, I'll patiently wait. They'll be done and leave when they are. They own the jet until they step off of it.

Actually most flight attendants appreciate the nice gesture. Just like when they ask whether you need anything, that's not their job either.

Tool of the day: Pilots who help clean the cabin.

We're highly trained professionals that should command respect and high compensation. Cleaning the cabin does nothing but give EVERYONE the impression that you should be and desire to be treated like an low income blue collar unskilled worker. It makes the FAs see you as equals and it makes the company see everyone involved as an overpaid aircraft cleaner.

Your job is to safely and skillfully fly airplanes, not be a janitor. Don't stoop to this level... every time you do, it lowers the bar for the rest of us and further strengthens the expectation of everyone else that pilots should and will do it.
