All pilots in uniform who wears sunglasses inside the terminal. I mean is it really that bright in there.

I flew with a WSO in the F-4 who's call sign was Wedge for that very reason. I still think it was giving him too much credit.:)

To the LCA last night.
He shows up for an unannounced line check. Friendly, professional etc. Then proceeds to sit in the cockpit for the ENTIRE 9 hour flt? ****? No rest for the wicked I guess. Oh, he also played the whats this switch do and whats this rule mean game for most of the ocean crossing......
We all wanted to strangle him after a few hours.....later we just wanted to strangle ourselves to make it stop....

Oh man, I hate it when they do that! Your story reminds me of a certain MD11 Capt. I had the (dis)pleasure of flying with many times, years ago. He was a LCA, and he only had one mode of operation; "Must Give TOE". (trans-oceanic opererating experience, like IOE but over water)

It didn't matter if you had thousands of hours on the airplane, and you just flew the same trip with him last week, you were going to get a TOE, as if it were your first flight on the airplane, from the minute you showed up in the ATL briefing room, until you landed in Narita.

So one day we are half way to NRT, he's already told me how to do everything else, and he's run out of stuff to teach, so he starts with the stupid questions; "So...What happens when the auto-pack controller fails, and it goes into manual, what will happen and what should you do??"

I just gave him my stupid face, and shrugged my shoulders.

He looks at me with big eyes and says, "You mean you DON'T KNOW?"

I said, "It's not that I don't know, it's that I don't give a schidt..."

1) The instructor didn't cover that switch in Systems.
2) The instructor didn't cover that rule in World-Wide Ops.
3) The instructor didn't didn't cover this in Ops Specs.

The person that decided a CD was as effective as an instructor: TOOL.

After all, he just wants to be the smartest guy in the room, but see if you can make him nervous. :D but you just cant screw up.
