The Panthers are awesome. This is what you get when you have an owner who has the patience to build a franchise and not go for immediate gratification.

I'd bet the Panthers are going to be a power for the next 5 years.

I'm sure feelings are mutual here, Mike...

I look forward to you pulling my gear after the merger.

Are those off-color euphemisms really necessary? :D

I would agree.

But since ONLY one person in the thread heard the ATC exchange, who's to say they (the one making the stink over .01) WERENT being sarcastic with their statement to approach?

You might be right. But if you're right the unknown guy who said "rrreeeallly?", myself and the guy I was flying with completely missed his humor. And he didn't sound sarcastic, he sounded annoyed.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I know forcing the plane behind you to do a go-around is funny to some, but scared passengers in the back isn't good for business.

If a pax is afraid of something like a go around they probably shouldn't be flying......or ever leaving their padded room. GMAFB

Wouldn't you be happier as a Cargo Caninous operator? You still get to fly, but don't have to have nervous pax try your patience or test you compassion or lack thereof?

More than a few people are afraid/anxious of flying....WITHOUT the added "fun" of a go-around. A bit insensitive to think that makes them worthy of a padded room.

Try an easy go-around sometime instead of behaving like Maverick evading a Atoll missile in a F14 with a 4000' fpm climb to 3000'. Follow that with a short PA on downwind blaming a traffic sequencing issue. Easy come, easy go. The pax always looked calm when I've done it.

Big difference when low on a CATII-III or windshear.

As for "forcing" GA's? One might notice that jets aren't equipped with rear view mirrors. Sometimes exits are missed due to a higher speed or some other issue.

I'll beetch as much as the next guy when some guy lollygags down a 10K runway for whatever reason, but in the end, they own the pavement until exiting.
