Standard advice to rookies.

That's good advice.

You got any for those grandpas that act like they've NEVER been to ORD before even though both their respective airlines have had hubs/domicile there for decades? And the taxi instructions confuse the crap out of them?

And puhhhhhhleeeeeeze, "well, it's a busy airport so it's hard" isn't a valid rationale.

Even with the construction and changes the last 2 years, it's STILL rather simple.

Weird how a busy airport that's chaotic and not as easily laid out as others is one of the EASIEST to get around.

That's good too I guess, depending on the arbitrary and subjective margins and conditions. But taking a blasé attitude could get one in trouble, etc. *cough cough* 1572 *cough cough*.

Hey, let's throw in the T-birds too....

I'm sure feelings are mutual here, Mike...

"Windcheck!" When the three previous arrivals all asked the same thing. And LLWS Advisories are not in effect.

The great thing about most EFIS installations with GPS...they have the winds depicted for you.

I swear, reading comprehension here is abysmal.

The tool factor comes not from checking the altimeter setting. I think we can all agree that altimeter setting are important. The toolishness comes from being astounded that it moved .01 from the ATIS and being offended that the announced altimeter setting varied from the setting given on the ATIS.

Sheesh,

Sheesh,

I would agree.

But since ONLY one person in the thread heard the ATC exchange, who's to say they (the one making the stink over .01) WERENT being sarcastic with their statement to approach?
