No, try an out time with doors closed and wheel movement (pushback)! Closed up 10 prior, ready for pushback, but alley jammed? Yeah, you'll be out late.

Try an airline that uses the EFB's GPS to determine a 50ft movement before 'OUT" time is triggered. Stations where you still spin out of the gate and de-ice at the gate...try very late and not getting paid.

I wonder what the FAA would think about that method. It sounds like a systematic way to underreport block time. Maybe a phone call is in order...

at 70.4%? Better than United at 37.9%.

These figures are D:0 for July 1-27th.

By the way I'm pretty sure he is referring to Horizon unless there is some other airline using EFBs for ACARS times with 50' of movement.

How about guys asking controllers "any chance going direct" in a whiny voice? What ever happened to "request direct"?

Some people just like to hear their own voice:

"Center, Big Airline 123, request"

"Big Airline 123, go ahead"

"Big Airline 123 request FL360"

Two completely unnecessary transmissions.

TTOD:

CA today who had me ask every single controller for a ride report. I don't get it. If it's smooth, shut up and enjoy it. If it's bumpy, listen out on the frequency, because the controller invariably ends up giving the same information to everybody on frequency.

Sometimes (radio) silence is golden.

I've done that as a courtesy when the controller is busy, but not when it's quite. Figure the controller would respond to a low priority pilot request/question when his/her workload permits.

Doing it on ever radio request is somewhat cumbersome and toolish though.

Yeah, just leave your call sign off...no biggie.

Just say, "360" and see how that works for ya'.

Writers of "Destroyed in Seconds"

(Well, all reporters who purport to be aviation experts.)

First boo boo was calling two planes "aircrafts".

Second was in describing a Russian jump jet as a break thru in avionics since they were trying to be the first supersonic VTOL aircraft.
