Sorry but professional pride regarding one's appearance in this profession shouldn't be dependent upon the company you work for. It's not backwards at all.

Your appearance is a reflection of yourself including your personal and professional upbringing, not your happiness with your boss. Once a dirtbag always a dirtbag.

You're right. At one point this profession attracted people with good personal and professional upbringing. Now due to the continued degradation of the career field it is attracting more people that don't have those qualities. Also the companies used to enforce professional behavior. At one time it was possible to be fired or at least reprimanded for not wearing ones hat. Now a pilot barely has to be able to fly an ILS and they get to keep their job.

Personally I still take pride in my professional appearance but the companies have made it very clear that they don't care if you look like a slob as long as you're willing to work cheap.

We've gone from $500 escorts to $10 hookers but the companies are still getting their happy endings

You are correct. Look at a few of the "professionals" on this board. Sigh.

Today's TOTD is this pilot which is making email rounds:

I hope it is fake or some prankster, but somehow I fear it is real.

Sounds more Indian to me. Not sure if they could violate him for anything, maybe tying up the freq?

Sounds like a doctor in a 182 belittling others to me. That's a real tool in my mind.
