Gotta love the foolishness behind his assumption. In a nutshell his thinking goes so: "Oh, pilots only push buttons and have the luxury of traveling. That must be the only thing that they do; therefore it can't be too demanding. They are thus overpaid."

The title should read "EMT - Pay and quality of life still better than a regional pilot " Can't dispute that title. Being an EMT is only a means to an end. It's a prerequisite/training for a much better job. I could write an article about the life of a regional pilot, low comp, crash pads, destroys families, furloughs, blah blah blah but, they're already out there so I'm not going to waste my time. I know of 2 pilots who are currently on food stamps, divorced and haven't seen a holiday off in over a decade. The look on their faces when they actually see their own home is unbelievable. Try again... Rant over.

Read the third paragraph on page one of this article and you understand where this enlightened intellectual drew these comparisons from:
“In this article, I’ll discuss eight overpaid and underpaid jobs. My methodology? None.”
Also, the author of this article did not use correct grammar in the last sentence above.

You can't sleep in your own bed every night, you miss birthdays, weddings, family emergencies, have to pack your life up and carry it with you every day you are on duty...can't run down to dmv and get your DL renewed on a lunch break, can't plan anything more than maybe a month ahead (and if you weren't able to get a line that had the days off you needed for your sister's wedding too bad). You're lucky if you make 100K but overpaid...are you kidding me?
