Right. I'm sure that's a real story.

I'll just go back inside my house here in the Midwest will all of my obviously mentally challenged conservative friends and roll around in some more mud and drool on myself.

Most days I can't even tie my shoes! Man, am I just an ignoramus.

The correct start to that "story" would have been, "I had a crashpad buddy. He didn't believe me..."

Thanks for playing but grow up.

It's also why Russia is backing the Syrian regime, to prevent a NG pipeline from feeding Europe with ME natural gas and keeping Russia's strong hold on Europe's energy supply.

This is much bigger than just Baghdad falling to ISIS.

Timbo I have no answer for you, and neither has any politician. Which is why we have this mess.
Meh, doubt it. The sky is always falling somewhere.

Personally, I don't think that we, the United States, should have ever sent our troops to Iraq. In a conflict such as this, we have Black Ops, Seal Teams, Rangers (Air Force & Army), and NSA/CIA operatives & Field Agents and other "mercenary militia" groups.

These agencies/outfits/units are used to neutralize any threats to our overseas interests, US citizens living abroad, and the new "it" phrase...Homeland.

Even though the USA has increased the SpecOps community, there isn't enough of them to do what you're asking.

Then train more of them. Surely we have the money and resources along with highly motivated young men and women. The only "boots" on the ground in Iraq and the big A should have been high grade killers who kill from a mile out.

I never said it was overnight, I said, train more of them. Still a better alternative then a mass production of boot's on the ground, at least initially.

SOCOM/JSOC entities are a scalpel not a hammer. They were never intended, or trained to carry out long term, high optempo, continuous operations. Each entity has a specialty. Think of the spec ops community as a very expensive tool box, of very very specialized, very expensive tools. You can't just stamp them out like you can say pilots.

To repel an invading force (say ISIS in Baghdad), you need a sledge hammer. Mechanized Army brigade or even a Marine MEU. You roll in, stomp their guts out, kill everyone, then leave. We won't do that though...

I don't know if I agree with you on that KC10FATboy...and I'll tell you why. Just "Googled"..."list of private security firms that provide security in Iraq" and I must have gotten 50-75 results with 90% of those firms having stateside addresses. These outfits can be used to neutralize strategic targets and conduct surgical eliminations.

I believe that there are more "private security firms/mercenary outfits that are U.S. based out there than the general public realizes. JMO.
