It's actually kind of funny to remember when science was all atwitter about the coming ice age back in the '70s.

Anyone care to try to spin this article?

I have an idea - let's only be capitalistic when we're not too profitable - nobody was crying for the oil companies when oil prices collapsed in the 70s after the oil embargo and they barely stayed in business. Any time you punish a company for being "too profitable" it comes back to haunt you at some point. If they didn't do it illegally (it's not their fault that oil spiked up to $80/barrel because of Israel/Lebanon, Iraq/Iran, 9/11 - take your pick of what caused the runup) then we shouldn't look to go after them. I know there wasn't a monopoly or collusion or anti-trust to make the oil companies this profitable so let's just let them make their money.

Default Ryan is like...

a little kid who sees something at Disneyland and is sure it is real. He goes back to his hometown and tells all of the older kids that he saw a flying elephant...he then gets his ass kicked...thus becoming a liberal.

Ryan, Jungle has provided the research. We don't want to see the stupid flick.

Just like a bleeding heart liberal who sees the Sarandon movie and is now against the death penalty. Ryan, as you like to say, "I CHALLENGE YOU TO THINK FOR YOURSELF AND QUIT BEING A WHINEY LIBERAL."

Hahahaha!...Mike, regarding my answer to your post on the other thread, there you have it! We didn't have to wait long, now did we?

Ryan, the last time I heard, you were a Bay Area Republican. I guess that makes you a liberal Republican. Don't dismay though at the "liberal" label. I could be a died-in-the-wool conservative Republican (I'm not) but I'd still get called that because of where I live. All of my beautiful, smart, single girlfriends all tell me that men who lean slightly to the left are WAY better in bed. Basically they tell me that if a guy cares about something other than himself and his pocket, that it transmits to the bedroom as well. Another single guy I know who used to be a conservative Republican also told me that he changed his thinking because Bush is "such an idiot" and then went on to tell me that he gets WAY more action these days because the beautiful smart girls didn't want anything to do with him before and that he only attracted golddigger Republican chicks who just wanted to spend his money. He is a very happy man now who doesn't sit around b*tching and moaning about women after his money...LOL...so let CargoBob call you all the names he wants! Probably one of the main things that p*ssed them off about Clinton as well - he was getting it and they weren't!

I noticed Jungle had no footnoted links to back up his evidence. I'm not saying that he does not have the bonafide evidence, but people can write whatever they want. For the record Ryan, I'm a Marin County tree-hugger who probably pays way more in taxes than these B*tching, moaning, ranters ever will! An Inconvenient Truth!!!

Have to admit though - CargoBob is amusing! Always good for a few laughs!

Actually the Telegraph article is full of documentation, you may want to read the series. The first list of facts presented are easily verifiable with very little effort.
Your frequent references to your sexual inclinations and the amount of taxes you pay don't really serve to help your argument, but they are indeed amusing.

By all means Jungle, then post the link to the documentation. I'd love to read it!

If you re-read my post, you will see that my references were not to "my" sexual inclinations, but to those around me. It's a fairly common belief among women as to who makes the better lovers, and women TALK about this stuff! I'm just repeating what I hear. I guess I will be doing my own personal scientific survey now that I am single again after a long marriage.

I am always happy to be a source of amusement - nothing like putting a smile on someone's face!
