These people literally make me want to quit flying. I kind of wonder if it's some sort of paid recruiting campaign.

Probably one of the most popular is pilotmaria. I made a snarky comment on her blog once. Of course it wasn't approved. Another one is this Air France dude, afpilotview. It takes all my willpower to not comment, "wow, you landed?" on his videos. There are tons of similar accounts though. All equally awful. A few are from the US.

There are some cool non-circle-jerkers on IG though. Indopilot comes to mind (great pics, but recently left papua)
Would be funny if somebody started trolling her a little by asking if she's putting on weight or perhaps point out a wrinkle or two on her face.

She's not. And doesn't. But maybe she'll put the camera down for a few minutes.

It's not about sharing the dream, just sharing with everyone else how you cool you think you are. Haven't met one of these people in the States but it's only a matter of time.

There are tons of narcissistic pilots...It manifests itself in so many ways....

Personally I don't care. Seems like most of the instagrammers enjoy what they're doing. Beats sitting 5 hours with the guy who moans incessantly about his bad commute, why Delter is getting a raise but he isn't, etc....

Oh you better believe they are in the states. I've flown with one particular pilot who'd be snapping selfies during departure climb because of the cool background. totally unacceptable. Nothing below 10,000' should be posted unless you want the FAA coming after you.

Give me a break. As if the FAA has nothing better to do than go looking through the millions of pictures on the Internet to see if a pilot is using their phone below 10k feet. I am so tired of this mentality that the world is going to end, there will be a revolution this yr, scared of everything and anything and you better think like I do or you're a fool. It's as if I'm flying with Fox News right next to me the whole flight.
Relax not everyone is out to get you or ruin the world.

Tell you what. Post some pictures and videos of you violating sterile cockpit on your Instagram account. I'll make a stink with FAA about it for you. Are you willing to bet your ticket that they will ignore it? How about your employer? There are two former new hire legacy F/Os out there that I know of that were fired recently for their continouos inability to put their IPhones down. What a way to blow it, despite being warned repeatedly. And Fox News never even heard about it.
