Maybe for the mainland base and first year pay increase.

Rumored that we only had 200 applicants in the most recent opening and attrition is about to spike significantly. Sitting around and waiting for Japan to open up might bring dark days on Hawaiian quickly.

The days are already dark... 200 applicants sounds pretty good compared the 100 that I heard. Hawaiian better up their game pretty soon before it's too late.

Consider that $36 to actually be $18 per hour given the cost of living disparity with the mainland. Good grief. Who do they expect should be subsidizing your cost of living?

Agreed. Front office has a horrible false sense of security and is overly prideful. Every company email about how we have a better product scares me more and more. I know many people interviewing with the big 3 and I definitely don’t do much networking so I can only imagine the real number. We need a buyout but I don’t think that’s in the future.

you think? Attrition I could see for commuters with less than 5 years on property but that’s a small percentage of the group. The retirement numbers are pretty manageable. I don’t get the sense any dramatic course corrections are underway. Hopefully they increase first year pay though. Lastly, imo Japan is too important a market to abandon out of restlessness

Yes, but management is more concerned about hiring more managers than fixing internal problems.
The fact that the 717 is so understaffed due to sim issues is ridiculous. The bean counters threw all the eggs in one basket with the sim which breaks down every week or so. They gave up the Atlanta slots and so we have a bunch of pilots sitting around waiting for training while the
NEO's and sometimes the 330's have to fly interisland routes even though we have enough 717 airframes.
