Any numbers or equipment? I wonder how competitive it will be, particularly with everyone else hiring and first year pay being far less than even regional FO pay.

The first year pay is just another example of how HA's management is out of touch with the real world.

Can’t remember the exact number of vacancies. Between 75-100 probably. There’s gonna be a massive shuffle coming up in December, but I would expect vacancies on all aircraft except for the 787.

Aloha, Current ACMI guy here. I will be looking to apply when this window opens. Hopefully the second time is a charm. I have read the forums and have been following this thread and I still have a few questions I can’t find the answers to:

1. What are the current reserve times looking like on the various fleets? And does it go senior or junior or a mix bag?

2. I thought I read somewhere that Hawaiian doesn’t provide lodging during training but can’t locate that info. Is that true or not?(I have been looking at places/rooms for rent just to get a feel if so)

3. I saw the reply on what the trips look like for the fleets, but is it possible to group workdays/reserve days together to minimize commuting and maximize blocks of days off? I will be commuting from the mainland (PHX) for a bit.

Thanks for clearing these questions up and good luck to everyone when the window opens up (Hopefully soon)

1) Reserve is generally junior on all fleets. Times on reserve is hard to guess right now with so much hiring and movement. If hired at the beginning of this window, 717 and 321 reserve would likely only be a few months. 330 is generally more senior and will likely require a longer stint on reserve.

2) Only domicile is HNL, so no lodging while training in domicile. All 3 sims are located in HNL but you may be sent to sim elsewhere depending on availability. Lodging is provided for any training conducted out of domicile.

3) Reserves are able to stack all their days in a row and work 18 straight. Bid lines trips can be stacked together with FAR 30/168 limitations. Depends on seniority and fleet how easy it is to do, but 321 and 330 it wouldn’t be too difficult with a little seniority to build a week on/week off type schedule. Or even stack all your trips together (some trips have 30/168 within), and have 14-16 days off in a row.

Thanks for the information. So do you see most guys/gals that are not local get an apartment together for training or is there any “crashpad” type places around the area?
