I have a master's degree and about 3400 total time (all jet). I don't know what they are looking for.

And vice versa. HAL mainly invited WP pilots with check airman experience. And I'd say most (if not all) of those WP pilots invited don't have jet or mainland (or any flight time outside of Hawaii.) Even some WP FOs with little or no TPIC were invited. And most of these senior WP pilots applied AFTER the initial bankruptcy and/or shutdown while those not invited applied on day 1 before bankruptcy was declared. I'd say the one thing they all have in common: strong local ties. Pilots that dropped everything to move to Hawaii for WP, with diverse backgrounds and internal recs, got crickets...

invited doesn't mean they automatically will get hired.
Last few windows only about 50% that interviewed got CJO.
wait to see how many of them actually get the job.

It’s brah, not bra, maybe the little things count? HR is heavily involved in the process to select interviewees, who knows what they are looking for.

that is funny, I heard the opposite, that Flt Ops is now running the show on who gets called and HR has little involvement.
Didn't they eliminate the HR part of the interview where you picked a question from a hat?

no ones seems to know the secret formula, but you can guess at it from who actually gets hired. it is about 75% are living in HI, so that tells you what counts the most.

I think its mostly HR handing out the interviews though.... explains the ridiculuous essay questions...
