Don't see how the Island Air certificate would increase hiring at Hawaiian.

It wouldn’t. Would have to hire pilots For its own subsidiary regional, which I assume would be the same pilots flying for Empire right now. Who knows what will happen. Maybe there will be a flow or something for pilots to fly the 787 at $36/hr.

Option 2: Get on with Ohana and take the QOL with the hopes of being able to hope on HA in the future.
Did you get the thumbs up from empire ?

I know two guys that recently got hired that went to Ohana from a regional. One only had PIC time at Ohana, other had no PIC .
So anyone saying you need this or that to get on with HAL is just guessing. Just look at who they actually hire.

While some may get hired with 0 PIC, those are the exception to the norm. All of the new hires that I’ve met from recent classes have had Part 121 or Mil PIC.

Rumors are floating around for more hiring later in the year. But there are still some left in the pool from the last window.

So if you currently fly for Ohana, if HAL offeres you a job you get to take a big pay cut down to $36. Nice
