Everything is still on the table. Worry about the interview first

How do you know? Did they call the same day? When did you interview?

What do you mean by your file got booted? Did you get a rejection letter/email?

Really, you can't count on anything being on the bottom. Hmm seems like you're dreaming. This is aviation, nothing else. Don't forget about the upgrade time.

Got a rejection e-mail...interviewed on the 25th. I'm pretty bummed; I was looking forward to SJU on the ATR and joining the Eagle family. Looks like a great place to be. Just wanted to let you guys know that the boards have started reviewing application packets, so hopefully it won't be much longer for those that have already interviewed.

Since they usually don't tell you why this is unless you have cancer or something (then they are required to tell you) and if you don't have something obvious in your record like a lead-foot, a DUI or other police record, then I suspect low flight time. The whole Colgan thing has them worried.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your total, PIC and multi when you applied? What are they asking for these days?

BTW, it was funny to see the President of the airline complain for the past 5 years about the expense of his highly senior pilot group, then tout that same experience level at the Congressional hearings on Colgan and now to be seeking to kick to all those pilots to the curb.

Same thing happened to me in May of 08 only it was the day after the interview. That was right when they decided to stop hiring and start furloughing. I have no idea if it was just a convenient way to let me know they changed their mind because of furloughing or if there was a problem with me or my credentials. The e-mail basically said that I didn't make it past the final review and they were withdrawing their offer of employment. I more than exceeded their requirement for flight time and a spotless driving/flying record with no violations or incidents.

Over my last 7 years here I have seen some of my friends who had spotless records, outstanding flight time etc. not make it past the Captain's review board. I know it sucks and it's not fair, but in some cases the applicant has nothing to do with it, try to keep your head up.
