I live in ATL (class date 3/14) and would like to be based in ATL. However, when we interviewed they said "No Way, it's probably gonna be JFK." They said that JFK reserve would be a couple of months and I'd eventually get back to ATL if I wanted it. With only 16 900's in ATL as of now, it seems like I might not get to fly much but I wouldn't have to commute. I'm still outside looking in and am not really sure what to expect at this point. What's the commute ATL-JFK like?

must have avoided it, i know of a few guys on reserve that do the intl turns all the time and fly way over 75 per month
yeah the guys doing the intl turns all the time are the ones buying beer for the schedulers... I called scheduling on a daily basis begging to fly while I was there. |

some very interesting news from my neck of the woods. As of today, Pinnacle and the University of Oklahoma have signed a direct entry hire agreement. Basically OU graduates who pass the background chek will be placed on the "hired list" and will recevive class dates as available. No interview at all. The agreement is effective as of today.
Looks like i may be going to Pinnacle very soon. |

Agreement reads you must have a commercial multi with instrument, 3.0 GPA, no more than 2 failed rides, no more than 2 tickets in last 3 years, first class medical, and passport. Also says you can be offered a class date by Pinnacle, Mesaba, or Colgan. No mention of any minimum hour requirement.

Well considering a CFI isnt required to graduate from there I would assume most do not and most I have spoken to graduate with the minimum for 141 commercial. It is amazing how my fellow co workers cant get a call who have been instructing for a couple years, yet these schools ink deals like these.
