Hawg,

I have to admit that your "top of the food chain fighter pilot instructor" comment struck me as a bit conceited. Maybe you're too good to be a lowly freight dog. Maybe you should apply to Delta (despite their less than favorable contract)?

BTW ... In the branch of the service that I was in, an O-4 was NEVER the top of the food chain, simply one that wasn't well enough respected to retire as an O-5 or above

Good luck ... Delta needs good fighter pilots.

Baron - can't let you get away with bashing AK Hawg.

I "don't mean to generalize" either but here's my take:

Simply put, you're a bullying jerk who is trying to demean AK Hawg for excelling in life and graduating at the top of his UPT class. Really???

Sounds like someone has an inferiority complex.

I hear Costco has Midol for sale in bulk right now...

Anyone know the specifics of what a Flight Training Procedures Instructor vs a Flight Training Maneuvers Instructor duties? Should you apply to both? We have neither of these position at our airline, just simulator instructor. Thanks in advance.

Trying to commute as a Professional Instructor is a real challange. Used to be you did not have access to the FedEx jump seat and since the Pros were not in CASS they did not have access to any off line jump seats. Don't know if this has changed, but if it hasn't, it will really limit your options to get to work. The schedule for a Pro is not nearly as flexible as it is for a line guy either. Very little opportuiniy to drop or trade events. However, there was at one time a nice move package that could get you relocated to Memphis. Despite all of the negative comments on this Forum, Memphis is not the end of the earth as far as a place to live.
Being a Professional Instructor at FedEx is a good deal for the right person. Good pay and good benefits with an opportunity to get to the line.

Nope. Several pros commute, same as flexes. They get jumpseat privileges and have cockpit access. They are required to observe line operations a couple of times a year too.
