Default FedEx is hiring instructors

The following information is a cut and paste from the FedEx pilot website. It is self-explanatory. Good luck to those who decide to apply.

JJ

On January 17, we will conduct our first Basic Indoc course since January
2008 and begin metering Professional Instructors and Corporate Aviation
pilots to the line. As a result, we have an opportunity to resume the
hiring of Professional Instructors and are asking for your help to
publicize these openings.

We have openings for three levels of instructors:

- Ground School Instructor
- Procedures Instructor
- Maneuvers Instructor

Previous aircraft and instructor experience will determine the instructor
level offered. Prior air carrier experience is considered a plus. A
medical certificate is not required. Specific job requirements are listed
in the posting.

If you know qualified individuals interested in joining the FedEx team,
please consider passing on the following information to them. Candidates
may apply for any or all positions. There are opportunities in each
aircraft training program. Applications must be made on line and must be
submitted by Jan 22, 2011 at 0001 LCL.

You can copy and paste the following URL’s for direct routing to the
external postings.

These slots are traditionally MEM based positions. Although we've got a sim up in ANC, I don't believe the posted positions would be up there. Wish they were as we hog-drivers have to stick together.

Thanks!
What is it with the current generation that they won't move for a job or perform work that is "beneath" them. Entitlement mentality?

I think you are probably just being humorous, but I wouldn't move from Alaska to Memphis for a 60K/year job unless I was running desperately low on options. As he said, if the job didn't require moving, he would be interested. If they guaranteed a job (like they have at times), I think they'd have more really good candidates. Having the right to an interview is obviously not the same....

So if one was hired in one of those 3 positions how long would you have to stay an instructor before going to the line? When are you given a Fedex seniority number? Any idea what these pay?

Thanks

Maybe I'll extend my career and call off retirement; haha!

They might manage to steal some jaded fellas from AA.

Anyone know what kind of schedule these instructors have? 4 on 3 off or something?

19 work days in a four month bid, 23 work days on a 5 month bid. Most days are about 6.5 hours.
