I think there are currently too many "ifs" right now to accurately predict hiring. Economy, political unrest, retirements (or lack thereof), growth, the issues with the regionals. It is a roll of the dice right now. Mama always said plan for the worst and hope for the best. That is probably good advice right now.

According to the flight ops presenter yesterday in SLC. Hiring late 2013. It takes off after that. The presenter, who is in charge of hiring is concerned about the quantity and quality of pilots that we can get. He pointed out that we are going to be in competition with Conunited and others. Richard won't lets him hire this year. So maybe the speculation on the Latest and Greatest forum that we are setting up for another merger is true. I can only go by the facts as they were presented yesterday.

Out of those 1500, how many will come back? How many have already been hired by the Continental side? Rumor was that when American was recalling, the take rate was something like 1 in 10. I think its feasable that United would hire sometime in 2013.
