Delta hiring 2012?

Not any rumblings that I've heard of. Seems they anticipate using the displaced DC9 pilots to cover increased M90 flying next summer. We should have an AE in the next month. That will cover summer 2012 flying (which is going to be down YOY).
Seems to me that we are fat in most categories. In my opinion, if we would hire next year (I'm skeptical), it wouldn't be until next fall for summer 2013.

What's the chance that this upcoming AE will mandate the need to hire? Especially with the increase in LGA flying? Anyone? And when is the AE supposed to appear?
Also, any validity to claims some have made that DAL is fat enough on pilots to NOT need to hire for LGA slot swap? Thanks for your input.

I think some of that will depend on the allocation of those new slots between mainline and DCI. I think we would all like to see those go to mainline, and some of the rhetoric from the company (announced parking of 50 seaters/retiring of Saabs) indicates a significant number will, but how many? Guess we will have to wait and see. Also, can the company just increase utilization of the NYC M88 and 73N categories or build rotations using other bases through NYC to cover the increase without hiring? Don't know for sure, but I think they probably can. I hate to say it, but I agree with others on here that I now don't see hiring/flows until next Fall.

Maybe I am reading into this to much but this is my thoughts. On the other Delta thread their was talk on a a LOA which seat locked new hires for a year. Why would Delta want that in an LOA if they didn't plan on hiring for another year or so. It may mean nothing it just got me thinking.

I know Delta won't be hiring for sometime...BUT...just curious as to how many pilots delta has hired in the past with zero turbine PIC time. I see their hiring minimums don't specify ATP or turbine PIC time as mandatory (although preferred im sure).
I am sure Delta probably receives thousands of applicants when the window opens..but my questions remains...do they ever call in pilots without any turbine PIC time and no ATP? How much SIC did they have if they did get called? Thanks!
