I heard from a pilot who interviewed today.
Here are some stats for the 'hiring News' section.

74 Applications
5 Selected for Interviews
Word is that there are 2 positions available.

A new hire into the VFE Program would very likely be available to move into an ASIP position at a future date.

One huge benefit obviously would be getting your foot into the Federal door. Not just in the door - but in the door with a Federal flying job. Also working in the same location and along side people who will be doing the interviewing and hiring for future ASIP positions. Flying the FIOM and learning aspects of the job as additional benefits.

For those looking at this position in the future or for the ASIP positions - this information mirrors the interview process for BOTH positions.

--3-person interview panel. Total of 20 questions with each person asking one question at a time from script.

- Tell me what you know about the VFE position and required duties.

- Have you regularly operated in dense airspace/airports?
- This position requires a lot of travel, are you willing to travel?
- What does CRM mean to you?

- IFR takeoff mins for IFR/VFR
- If MALSR inop, how does that affect required visibility?
- Alternate weather requirements.

--Flight in C-90. Briefed msn in plane. Evaluator sits in right seat and talks you through all steps and provides airspeed, flaps, and gear speeds.

- For a comparison to the interview process for the ASIP positions - refer to the 'FAA Hiring ASIP' thread near the end and you'll see similarities. The Gov't HR process is very strict. No going off script they tell you.
