My friend is in the Nov. 4th class (ERJ) and yes I was told that I failed the cog . test, and it was hard, at least off 2 hours of sleep. If someone fails the cognitive test, they're allowed to go to IAH to do a sim eval in the -145 FTD, I'm assuming that if someone does well, they will still be offered a slot. No sim eval if all test are passed.

If someone fails any portion of the test, they are told during the one on one. I'm glad that I made it through the technical test which was a beast.

Very Interesting.... What's your flying background and what are your hours?

Thanks a lot for the info, and best of luck to you. Get a good night's sleep before your sim eval.

We are short staffed and from what I hear we can't fill classes and have canceled flights due to poor staffing. I would like to think the company would get rid of that psych eval portion.

My experience here supports the psych eval!

If you can't pass the cognitive eval on a descent amount of sleep. You should not be flying. It's a joke. But it requires motor skills and reaction time.

If you have prior 121 are they requiring a sim ride? Also, are they hiring for the CRJ? How jr was IAD?

Sim ride is for people who fail the knowlege test and/or the cog test. If they think you might have potential. It also depends how desperate they are. We're not very desperate right now, applicants and especially from prior 121 and military.

IAD is very junior on the CRJ side. I cant speak for the ERJ side though, because it is a new base. Someone on that side will have to chime in. Either side you get, take it first chance you can. It is a pretty junior base IMO. Plus, I have a vibe from talking with people that the contract will be done by end of Dec. Vote in January. SLI might take some time though..

IAD is fairly junior on the ERJ side as well. However, the base is tiny. So it's not that easy to get. I've been trying to get it for couple of months and no luck so far.

210 pilots on the ERJ side, as of October 1st. I think there were 2 more classes in October, but I am not sure.
