The First Officer is responsible for the safe, consistent outcome of a
flight. The First Officer assists the Captain in ensuring a positive
JetBlue experience for our Customers and fellow Crewmembers. In
addition, the First Officer maintains compliance with applicable Federal
Aviation Regulations (FARs) and JetBlue Airways policies and procedures
Essential Responsibilities:
* Assist the Captain in ensuring the safe outcome of a flight in
accordance with all Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies
and procedures
* Safely operates the aircraft in accordance with all Federal Aviation
Regulations and Company policies and procedures
* Provide the JetBlue experience to all Customers and upholds the
JetBlue five values of safety, caring, integrity, fun and passion
* Work with fellow JetBlue Crewmembers and/or Business Partners to
ensure a team approach to proactively solve Customer and/or operational
challenges
* Maintain skills, training and qualifications in accordance with all
Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies and procedures
* Other duties as assigned
Interactions:
Supervision Received:
* Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which
arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on
own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Crewleader
informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching
implications
Supervisory Duties:
* No supervisory responsibility
Working Conditions:
Equipment:
* Turbojet aircraft
* Computer and other office equipment,,
Work Environment:
* Normal cockpit and ramp exposure per FAA required Pilot duties
* Frequent ascent and descent of jetbridge stairs
Physical Effort:
* Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds
frequently. (Sedentary)
Requirements
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
* 1500 hours total time in airplanes (including turbine Helicopter,
excluding Simulator, Flight Engineer)
* 500 hours in fixed wing airplanes
* Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
Certification
* Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
* Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Radio License
* Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United
States
* Three reference letters from Pilots who can personally attest to the
candidate's flying skills (must bring originals to interview)
* High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Acrobat Reader and the ability to use
browsers effectively including iOS
* Excellent communication skills; complete fluency in written and spoken
English
* Ability to think creatively
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Problem Solving skills
* Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test and
criminal history records check (CHRC)
* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is
located
* Candidates who have previously interviewed will be ineligible for
another opportunity to do so for a period of six (6) months from the
date of their last interview
* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the
JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all
capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the

Our computers surface the most competitive applicants in the database.
These files are then reviewed by a team of line Pilots. Due to the
high volume of applications we receive, competitive qualifications can
be significantly higher than the minimum requirements. On average, we
are currently seeing the following background in candidates selected to
interview:
* 3,000 or more hours total time
* Greater than 1,000 hours turbine PIC***
***JetBlue will only consider PIC time when the Pilot has signed for the
aircraft. Please use only this time when completing the areas of the
application asking for PIC time to be entered.
* Greater than 1,000 hours in more sophisticated aircraft utilizing
Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS), Flight Management Systems
(FMS)
* Regency of experience (Greater than 200 hours within the last 12
months)
* Bachelors Degree

Not troubled by that though, seems to me, if you meet the mins, JetBlue cares more about the type of person you are than how many hours you have.

Just finished my app.. I'm sure I'm nitpicking but maybe someone has some insight. I updated my candidate profile yesterday (which, by the way for those asking, is where you fill in your times... not on the app itself). When I opened the actual application, and got towards the end where there's a profile overview, it displayed all the information but had in large red letters "candidate profile is locked". I was still able to complete and submit the app, but does anyone know what that was about?

J4000 thanks for the tip on the candidate profile. I signed back in and walla - a new tab. It wasn't there before. I think the system may have been bogged down a little. I looked all over - knew it had to be there somewhere.
