Default Republic Airlines is Recruiting off PilotPool

Got a call from Republic today to schedule an interview. They downloaded my resume from PilotPool.com and called me the same day. Haven't called them back yet, but planning too and telling them I read Teamsters Local 357 and am not interested in working for them until they ever improve their work rules and get a contract.

Please tell them that- their ignorance is boundless. And good for you-theyre desperate now and this is where they will feel the pain. It means no new contracts.

I hear they're even pulling resumes that don't meet their published mins.

That sound you hear is the bottom of the barrel being scraped.

Good on you! Head to Skywest or any other regional that doesn't get constantly disrespected by mgmt.

I hear and read about things like this here all the time, and yet I know I sat face to face with them a few weeks ago with HR with my clean record, no serious issues, meet the mins, will work anywhere in any airplane for peanuts, and was still sent home. So was half the pilot group I was in. Take that for what it's worth. The guy interviewing me made at least one major mistake checking my logs though, he thought the missed problem codes shown on my ATP written test score printout was a list of failed FAA exams which it is obviously NOT. I have never failed a written or oral exam, ever. Blundering incompetence, maybe that is the reason they can't staff their airplanes.

If it's that bad, why in the hell did you show up for the interview/class?? You seem pretty upset for just a practice/warm-up interview.. Better luck next time.

Blown away maybe but not angry at all, they paid for the trip- and this is a pilot message board.

Clearly you didn't take the $1500 interview prep class from ATP. You need to pay money for the privilege of working for peanuts.

Before anyone gets their feathers ruffled this post is sarcastic.
