You took a job that was for a KNOWN whipsaw alter ego..FACT. Maybe the job had papers that were poorly translated, what ever..SUPPOSITION. But you knowingly took the job, and basically put 137 TSA pilots either out on the street or helped TSA fo's lose their shot at upgrade..FACT...Your job choice shows a distinct lack of integrity..FACT...The pilots at TSA didn't actively seek the Eagle planes...FACT... They didn't take a job at TSA and put Eagles guys out on the street with intent or malice, or as an instrument of whip saw.....FACT...Blojets, your company, is roundly despised by the majority of regional, as well as some majors..FACT...Your blojet buddies are *********s and self serving scum who essentially allowed TSA holdings to start a whipsaw... You may/may not have lowered the bar in the regionals, but you sure as hell did nothing to help stop the race to the bottom...OPINION/FACT....I am sure you are a good guy... But you work at a company that just perpetuates the sad belief that stopping the race to the bottom is not your problem.. You will let someone else fight the fight, like the TSA guys who voted down the chance to "capture" the flying at a cost to their integrity, living wages and the rest of the industry... They let Mesa "capture" the flying, then thump their chests at the ALPA board of directors meeting, telling the members that they were stopping the race...And that the industry should laud their performance... Which is crap... They have allowed themselves to be deluded.. And it is in no way the fault of the rank and file pilot group.. Their MEC, for all it's bluster, did not have the where with all to stand up to Orenstein and his cronies. They were afraid of losing their minimum wage jobs.. Which is wholly understandable..But does nothing in helping us a a group to bring back all the things that we as pilots have given up to hold on to our "precious" jobs as swinging di*k pilots... WE ALL have given up something that was fought for earlier on in the timeline of aviation.. We have allowed ourselves to give away the wages, prestige, benefits et al to the greed of owners and the public in general to keep what amounts to be a bus drivers job... And that is in NO way a slam on bus drivers... They are also well trained professionals... But hark back to the 60's and 70's, where this job was something that meant something...And look at us now... Blojets, Mesa, Freedom... And the majority of other carriers have ALL given up the hard fought wages, bennies et al that had made this a sterling profession. Now, instead of standing tall and united, pilots are coming out of school willing to pay for a job, to take a job that will put another pilot group at the mercy of a scumbag owner and his fat cronies, to give up basic benefits and comforts to keep a job that had denigrated into what amounts to being underpaid limo drivers...Sooo, I will get off the soapbox, to the relief of many here, I am sure, but think about what I said. I am not saying I am right, these are many opinions of mine.. But when a DC9 FO in the 80's made more than 90% of ALL regional captains flying the same number of seats in a cheaper, more fuel efficient airplane, there really is something wrong with ALL of us... So, my hatred for blojets is strictly personal, but this industry as a whole has had a cancerous growth that people like blojet pilots have done nothing to fight... That is what bothers me so much.. Good luck to you, pilottara... I hope blojets was worth it....

Regionals fly cause majors wants them too.If THEY controll the flying, routs even pay in a way! You want to see pilots to be united ? We should be on strike and then maybe wwe could achieve something ! I don't see anybody being on strike though.Look at COMAIR pilots. they did go down with signs and a strong voice and guess what, they will get what they want or at least a great % of it. Unions are good in action not in words and to just collect our dues ! look at the pilot unions in europe! Pilots go on strike , F/A's go on strike and guess what they bloody win. Here we only talk and talk.
I am a foreigner and maybe I don't get the way ALPA works but from what I see, I do not see how ALPA benefits the regionals ?
I ve been in aviation for few years and I am sure you to.
I am sure you are a great guy yourself and i wish you nothing but the best, but as far as tjhe coment you made about not getting hired at AirTran you should know better. You know that there are GJ pilots in AT and you know that just because some lady who used to work in TSA and now she and her husband works at AT( you know the names) that doesn't mean that she/he choses to hire or not GJ pilots. By the way my cousin is one of the top20 Cpts at AirTran and also he is one of the instructors for the NG, so really his recomendation among others will count more that what a new recruiter thinks or says.Trust me on that !
Look I did read and think everything you said but also think what I say.I might be a foreigner who can speak or write english but i know a think or two about aviation.
Question: If Delta /United decide tomorrow to drop their contracts with shuttle America or Chataqua and those pilots stay with out a job what should they do. Don't go to MESA or Colgan or GJ ? Stop flying completely until they get called back ?
Good luck in your career and life.

And I do have a ton of faith in TSA's MEC....I was on it until 2005, and never once steered any of our pilots wrong.. I still keep in touch with all of them, and though they are almost all gone, they never ever gave up the fight.... Best to you...

Street captains will be hired by summer.
We just got a memo encouraging FOs to submit a bid for CA if they'll be at mins (which were recently dropped by 1000 hours) within 90 days.
