I would not take a passengers word on this. I had an incident a few years ago with faulty boots on a Navajo and really bad icing. Everyone was quick to judgement and played arm-chair quarterback with my decisions for some time. It gave me a new appreciation for 'waiting until the investigation is done' before condemning another pilot's decisions or actions. I was just sharing a funny story that I heard about this flight, no judgment was going on. Perhaps you need to take things a little less seriously. |
The article says 76 pax onboard.... what seat config do they have up there?

All but 2 of the Q4's at Horizon are 76 seat config...the only 2 that aren't came from China, 424 and 425QX.

Heard the crew was on the second of back to back 11 hour days with several "breaks" intermixed throughout their day including a 2 hour break before their last flight at 11pm. It's interesting how a whole PILOT thread can go by and this has not been brought up once.
When will this massive elephant in the room finally break the whole house down? As for runways... Up until only a couple of years ago Alaska was flying 737-200s into 3900' Dutch Harbor Alaska. Got the chance to jumpseat it once.. wow. |

From what I know...
Aircraft N417QX had no problems identified and all systems operating normally. Landed Runway 34 at BLI, Visual Approach backed up with RNAV 34 and calm winds/good visibiltiy. Pilot Flying had bugs still set for the takeoff out of Seattle. Pilot Monitoring had bugs set for the correct landing weight. Aircraft was flown roughly 25 kts over Vref on approach, as a result of not being reset from the take off previous. Touched down significantly past the touchdown zone. Aircraft could not be stopped with emergency breaking and full reverse. I do not know anything further at this time...that includes what the crew's trip was like. |
