Man you would have to PAY ME to ride a bus from Pasco to Seatac, a couple hundred bucks for a ticket ain't that bad.

BTW isn't PDX senior at SKW?

Why pay a few hundred dollars for Horizon Air to fly you into Seatac when you can get the same travel for forty dollars from a shuttle bus service? Every bus they add to the line is another empty Dash 8. According to the news they are adding a lot of buses.

When you say bus service, do you mean PC-12?

I just saw a news story how they are exploding in popularity and adding even more big buses to the schedule out of Yakima.

I have used them and it is a good deal. They start in YKM and stop in ELN along the way. $40 from YKM to SEA. The leave four or five times a day.

Similar companies also are bringing pax into SEATAC from the north and south. It is catching on system wide. To me it is a major threat to Horizon Air and probably to regionals nationwide.

Why pay hundreds more to get to SEATAC when a nice bus can take you from your home town and get you there an hour or two later?

What do you mean hundreds more? It's $59 to go from Yakima to Sea-Tac a couple weeks from now. I don't know about you but for $19 more than the bus service i would rather take Horizon.

Whenever I have tried to book a flight on Horizon it was around $300 or more. Sometimes you can add a horizon air flight to an already overpriced Alaska fare but I have not commonly seen $69.

If $69 fares were commonly the case then why are the buss services expanding so rapidly?

Default I looked it up.

Update:

I have looked up some fares a few weeks from now and found $118. Not bad.

Default Correction

Correction:

If I understand the web site correctly it is as much as $118 each way plus hidden airport fees and taxes. As much as $257. There are also baggage fees that could add another $15 to $100. An extra hour or two in a bus would be worth that.

I don't know how many times you have drove through the pass in the winter but it can turn into a 10 hour ordeal with traffic backed up for forty miles. I'd just assume pay the money so I'm not late for my flight to Narita. If I miss my flight there goes all my savings, plus more, on a hotel.

So in short, expect Horizon to be hiring street captains into the Prevost X3-45 by mid summer.
