Bus or car is strong competition, as are other airlines, there is no plan for recalls or hiring, upgrade is around 10 years ( yes…6 years sure sounded bad, but +10 sure got a special ring to it ; doesn’t it), …the list goes on, indefinitely. The PNW sure is a nice place, but so are other companies to work for. Take a close look what you are wishing for, because this high paying, family oriented place might have some flaws that are not visible from the outside. Good luck though…we will welcome you when you made your choice, but don’t ever say “you were not told otherwise”.

Likewise. While I didn't know it at the time I feel lucky now to have 'only' been in the right seat there for six years before upgrading on a turboprop. It's a good company, but if you're not attached to the PNW and your career goal is to work at a major I would steer well clear.

How hard is it to land a AMF job in BFI on a 1900 or 99?

You mean going directly to BFI on the 1900 or 99 or upgrading? Cause I hear BFi is pretty senior and you would probably have to start on a piston first.

Bfi is one of the most senior bases for AMF. You wouldn't even be able to get in the piston there. The most junior pilot is going on 3 years at bfi. Alot of pilots down in PDX would/have standing bids to move up to BFI if a spot comes up.

Had I known that Horizon Air was the best that I could hope for then I would have quit that moment. Nine leg days. Gone two thirds of the time. Self funded retirement on mailman wages. Not for me. Never was.

I still miss flying, but my dream was for a different life. Leaving Horizon was the best thing I did.
